Hi guys! We have another poem for you! This one is written by our friend Stephani who has struggled with self harm. Stephani is currently fighting off a disease called Alopecia Areata which is an auto immune disease that causes her hair follicles to fall out or causes her hair not to grow. To know more about her story you can like her facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/TheBaldPrincess. She is so brave for sharing this and we are very thankful that she is letting us share this with you. She says this is her reverse testimony, this would have been her story had she not had Christian friends that never gave up on her and had she not embraced God and let her change her and heal her. This is truly beautiful, enjoy!!!
Daddy's Little Girl
Daddys little princess
She’s daddy’s little princess
Golden hair all in curls
Her smile so radiant, so pure
With a laugh so contagious
It melts the worlds heart
such happiness and joy
they haven’t seen before
As she grew older
she has changed so much
from that little girl
who believed she could be
whatever she wanted to be
but now she knows such great pain
more pain then she can bear alone
seventeen with a shattered heart
she feels a void, desperately she tries to fill it
hopelessly she moves from
obsession to obsession
addiction to addiction
she lives for the next high
the next party to get wasted
poor girl, you would never know
how completely and utterly broken she is
she has been searching
searching for something to believe in
searching for someone to save her
but she doesn’t find any hope
instead is trapt in bondage of pain and misery
the vodka, the razor, the pills
her refusal to eat
all desperate attempts
to numb her pain
to disguise her dwindling self-worth
struggling to be perfect
to be that little girl her daddy used to love
sadly one night
alone in her room
her mind racing
the pain overflows
what more can she take
once and for all
she will make it end
a bottle of pills, she swallows it all
then drinks from the tall bottle
she pulls out her razorblade
then slices her wrists open
tears and blood overflow
it just keeps bleeding
it wont stop, the pain is releasing
please don’t make it stop
from across the hall
daddy feels his heart drop
time stands still as
he walks in her room
for a shock of a lifetime
lying in the ground all covered in blood
is his little princess
she’s rushed to the emergency room
barely conscious
she’s loosing lots of blood
she’s shaking uncontrollable
her chance of survival is slight
doctors crowd around her
they pump out her stomach
and they stitch up her wrists
slowly time goes by
they talk to her daddy
with all the complications
there wasn’t much we could do
his little princess has become
yet another statistic in this vicious battle of suicide
