Everyone has hopes and dreams. Maybe they're huge dreams or maybe they're small ones. Maybe you want to graduate from law school or live to be 18 or travel the world or become a football player or marry your best friend. You could want to become a singer or an actress, win the Mrs. America pageant, learn to do a back walk over, learn to love yourself, to beat your eating disorder, win a contest; whatever it is, everyone has something they aspire to do. And if you don't, maybe you should find one. Dreams give us a purpose. I believe that God has given us desires that match according to His will, so that we can long to follow His call. God wants us to reach our goals. He cheers for us when we're striving to accomplish a task. He loves it. Dreams can help give us a reason to wake up in the morning, a reason to keep going.
The hardest thing comes when you're the only one that believes in your dream. Its so easy to get discouraged a in a world set on bringing us down. The world is filled with broken dreams because its so much easier to just give up and settle for less then it is to press on and have faith that God is going to work things out.
Let me tell you, shooting for the stars is hard. To accomplish your goals, it requires hard work, strength, dedication, and perseverance. But that's what makes it worth it at the end. When you finally cross that finish line and you look back and see how far you've come, its just that much more beautiful. People give up too easily because they seek results and don't enjoy the journey. The journey of reaching your dreams is amazing too.
I want to tell you to never give up. The task may look impossible, but with Christ, you are unstoppable. There is nothing you can't do. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us of that. You were created with a purpose, and even if you don't know what that is yet, it's important to not give up on searching. We were made to thrive, to have goals and to want to pursue them, we were made to work hard and be strong. This can be hard in a world where everything is handed to you. I encourage you to work for it; even in this world.
Whatever you dreams are, pursue them and don't give up until its finished. You can do it. Let go of any insecurities or fear you might have. Trust God to pull through. Rely on Him for your strength.
You know what my dream is? My dream is to graduate college and open a RAIM recovery house for you guys, so I can help the struggling youth/young adults of the world. And you know what? I will. I have always struggled in school, but I can do this. Because I won't rely on strength from myself, but rather, on the Lord and His strength. I want RAIM to have thousands of likes on Facebook and followers on Twitter, I want to host a youth conference some day, and above all, I want to follow wherever it is that God leads me. I trust Him in this. He knows my hearts desires, I just need to have faith it in Him to work things out and to give me strength to keep going.
Don't let anyone tell you that you're too weak or too broke or too dumb. You're a fighter; you got this.
So, what's your dream and how will you work to achieve success?
(Sorry not sorry. I love Tangled.)
