It's okay to feel sad. It's okay to relapse while trying to recover; It's a process, and that process only gets slowed when you spend your time feeling guilty. Learn to forgive yourself.
It's okay if you don't feel like yourself sometimes. It's okay if you don't know what you want to do with the rest of your life. It's okay if today all you did was lay in your pajamas and watch Netflix. Some days you just need to take some time out for yourself.
Some days are going to be harder than others. If you're struggling, it doesn't mean it's getting bad again. It can just be a bad day. You're allowed to have bad days. You're allowed to feel hurt or angry or sad.
It's okay to feel a little bit lost or confused. We all wander aimlessly sometimes, and usually that's how we end up finding ourselves.
It's okay to feel afraid and to have moments of doubt. It's okay to be scared, but don't let fear control your life.
It's okay. You're okay.
All those things, they're valid. But never let them control you. Sadness is okay, fear is okay, struggling is okay; all those states though, they're just that. Okay. But they're not places you want to live forever. They're not great. And please, don't settle for just okay. Go for amazing. Because God wants more for you than a mediocre life. He wants you to have life and life in abundance. So yes, take some time to feel those things you feel; don't shut off your emotions, but there comes a time where you have to pack it up and move out. Why settle for pain when you can have joy?
So today, sleep. Rest. Cry. Have some ice cream. Be sad. But tomorrow, don't let those emotions win. Don't let depression take over. Get up and show it who's boss.
That's tomorrow.
But for today, simply existing is enough.
