If you don't know the storyline, Mike has a best friend, his name is Sulley, and Sulley is a big shot monster, he is like the top scariest monster. So Sully gets a lot of fame and a lot of admiration, Mike on the other hand, he stays in the background but he does a lot of things for Sulley, he sets up the equipment for Sully to scare kids, he gives him advice, all of those things that best friends do.
Here's the thing, Mike wanted to be a big shot like Sully, be he just can't do it, I mean he stays positive that he will do it someday but honestly, he's really not scary, so he works somewhere else within the company. And here's how God spoke to me: Since Sulley is a big deal and gets a lot of fame, Mike accompanies him on a lot of things. There's a point in the movie where the t.v is on and a commercial for the company comes on and Mike is super excited because he's on t.v!!
So here's my challenge for all of us, you may be hurting a lot, or just a little, or not at all, wherever you are with that hear me out: change your perspective. I know this is a little bit of a rant but analyze what is your reactions to situations that don't go your way. Mike stays positive through a lot of things and if you watch the movie you can see that life is really not fair for him, but he just stays positive, he keeps smiling and viewing things differently than other people. You that whole "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing? Well it works with your life as well, the way you view your life says a lot about you, maybe life doesn't really love you, maybe it has been hard, very hard, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't love your life. Remember to look for the little things, to appreciate what happens in life not because it happened the way you had planned it, but simply because it happened.
I hope this helps some of you. God bless.
